Filling out the dala horse line

As my long time patrons know, this is not my first foray into Dala horses. I did this initial illustration back in 2012 and it went over big in my very Swedish hometown. After making and selling at least 3 originals, I put this dala on cards, prints, pillows, and pins. Even after almost 5 years, my dala products are consistently top sellers.

I've got a thing for hearts too

Hearts have shown up in my work for years. Back in 2011, I had my first solo gallery show at JR Kortman Galleryright around Valentines Day. I made a series of small collages with a heart motif to sprinkle in among my chair pieces. They were a big hit. See my name in there? I wasn't even married yet!

Mixed media heart art I made back in 2011. All have since been sold.

"Recycled" hearts

The hearts I used for my tea towel began their life life as a coloring page. I gave it away as a freebie to my mailing list last year.

I first used this pattern as a freebie for my mailing list. Want to join the fun? Click the photo and join. You'll get a whole bundle of coloring pages!

New Things and Stuff

 Hi there. How are you?

After pretty much ignoring my Etsy shop for the better part of this year, I decided to give it some attention. I've added a whole slew of new prints designed to fit perfectly in Ikea Ribba frames.  At just $9.99 with mat and hanger included, these frames give you a lot of bang for your buck and give a small image a lot of visual weight. I am partial to the white version of the Ribba frame, but they also come in black, aluminum, medium brown and black.

I've also got a new set of illustrated bird cards in the shop. I'm really proud of this bunch! Stay tuned for a 2015 bird calendar as well.

Hope you are enjoying your summer. Any fun adventures in the works? Do share.

A Visitor in the Studio

Well hi there! Happy Saturday to you.
Our house was a little fuller this week, as we had Jack in town for his spring break.

I can't ever get him to pose for a picture, so this is the best I got of him all week!

We spent Wednesday working together in the "capsule" (my tiny studio.)

Jack worked on a Flash animation.

I worked on a Dala horse for Matt.
He's been asking me for a year to make him one. Sorry it took so long Matty!

We peacefully coexisted in these tight quarters all afternoon.
Here are the end results. Enjoy!
